52nd Annual Dove Award Winners

Why are the Dove Awards important? This award show is the biggest night in Christian music — a night when we get to celebrate the artists that we hear on the chart every week, and watch them earn awards and praise for the hard work they put in to bring us our favorite songs.

This year, the 52nd annual Dove Awards was hosted in Nashville and aired on October 22nd, 2021. Let’s highlight the winners in the top 5 categories!

In the category of Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year, the winner was Tauren Wells and his song “Famous For (I Believe).” It was up against hits from Zach Williams, Lauren Daigle, For King & Country, and Crowder!

Next, in the category of Worship Recorded Song of the Year, the winner was “Graves Into Gardens” from the writers of Elevation Worship and Brandon Lake.

And celebrating a couple of wins that night, Maverick City Music won New Artist of the Year! Their biggest song on our chart, as you probably know, is “Promises” and it’s spent 10 weeks on our chart so far!

For the category of Artist of the Year, For King & Country won against Elevation Worship, Lauren Daigle, Phil Wickham, and Zach Williams! We can’t imagine how tough of a choice that was, but the Smallbone brothers got the top spot!

And, finally, the Song of the Year — the anthem of 2020 and played on our charts for 20 weeks, hitting our top 5 — was “The Blessing” from Kari Jobe, Cody Carnes, and the writers at Elevation Worship! Did you know it also won a Dove Award last year for Worship Recorded Song of the Year, too?
