Christian Music Legend, Carman, Passed Away at 65

Contemporary Christian music legend, Carman Dominic Licciardello, has passed away at the age of 65, after fighting a series of complications resulting from a surgery.

After a 40-year career, and multiple awards, Carman still holds the world record for having the largest audience to see a single Christian artist. He would often put on elaborate shows, often for free, or for a donation, that attracted thousands of fans, as his main desire of his heart was always to win souls to Christ through his music

Here is what the Newsboys had to say about his passing, “We are sad to hear of the passing of our longtime friend, Carman. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his wife and family. If you were a fan of CCM in the 80’s and 90’s, you know that Carman was an unconventional, indescribable force. Both newsboys and DC Talk did numerous tours, shows, and festivals with him over many years. He was an extremely kind and humble supporter of all of us. Even after his career slowed down in recent years, he would still show up at random tour stops to offer his support, and for that we will forever be grateful. Godspeed, Carman!”

Our thoughts are with Carman’s family during this difficult time.
