Christian Music Performances on American Idol

This is a big moment in American Idol history! American Idol is the show where singers from all over compete for a shot at making it big in music.

This week, the top contestants brought some of our favorite Christian songs right into people’s living rooms. We got to hear Brandon Lake’s “Gratitude” and MercyMe’s “I Can Only Imagine,” Maverick City Music’s “Jireh” plus a few other favorites that had the audience singing along.

The host said that tens of millions of votes came in at a rate they’ve never seen before. For the first time in over 24 years of the show’s history, they postponed announcing eliminations to make sure every vote was counted.
