Zach Williams Wins GRAMMY Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance

Congratulations are in order for one of your favorite Christian artists who won a GRAMMY Award last weekend! Zach Williams and Dolly Parton won for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance for their hit song, “There Was Jesus” at the 63rd Annual GRAMMY AWARDS. This is Zach Williams’ second career win and he has been nominated a total of five times.  

Zach shared during his acceptance speech, “Without God, obviously none of this is possible. We are just so grateful for this opportunity. And we want to thank Dolly Parton for being a champion, from day one, on this song!” Check out his full acceptance speech below:

Now a GRAMMY Award is nothing new for Dolly Parton, as this is her tenth career win with 50 total nominations – wow! She shares on her Instagram, “Thank you Jesus, thank you Zach Williams, and thank you to the GRAMMYs and all of our fans. I am very humbled but proud.”

The competition was fierce for the Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance nominations. “Holy Water” by We The Kingdom, “The Blessing” by Kari Jobe, Cody Carnes and Elevation Worship, “Famous For (I Believe)” by Tauren Wells and Jenn Johnson & “Sunday Morning” by Lacrae and Kirk Franklin were all nominated in the category. Congrats to everyone – what an honor!
