Christian Artists Come Together for New Album Inspired by The Chosen
The hit series The Chosen is bringing some of its most meaningful stories to life through music with a brand-new album. If you’re not familiar with The Chosen, it’s a television series based on the Gospels in the Bible that follows the life of Jesus and the people who encountered Him throughout His ministry.
The new album is called Songs Inspired by The Chosen: Seasons 1–5, and it features original songs from artists who found inspiration in the biblical stories brought to life throughout the series.
And there are some familiar names on the project, including Phil Wickham, Anne Wilson, and Jamie MacDonald!
Phil Wickham’s song, “SOS (Don’t Let Me Go),” is about Peter walking on water and calling out to Jesus when he begins to sink.
Anne Wilson’s song, “Even This,” was inspired by a conversation between Jesus and one of His disciples, Little James, who asks why Jesus hasn’t healed him. The song is about trusting that God can use even the painful parts of our stories, and that nothing is too broken for Him to redeem.
And Jamie MacDonald’s song, “Roots,” is based on the message of Psalm 1 and what it means to stay rooted in your faith.
It’s interesting how the same stories we read about in the Bible can speak to each of us in different ways, and this album is a pretty cool reminder of that!
